The traffic in Sao Paulo is the worst in the world.
There are many characteristics of traffic that show its behaviour as a complex system.
I would find it hard to do without the ocean. We live within a few minutes drive of the sea, and drop down there whenever we have a chance.
The ocean heals and rejuvenates us - its vast spread, its sound, its salty air, the sea breeze. So bracing. These crashing waves! Other times, it's calmness is soothing.
We once lived in the middle of Africa, many days from the sea. This was so strange!
A Grumpy Old Man
This is the Website of a grumpy old man. So be warned. I might be quite pleasant and helpful. Or I could get tetchy and mess things up. Time will tell.
What's the Website for, you ask?
Well, I am a retired civil engineer, from Scotland and, via England, Africa and, for a long time, Australia, now retired on the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia.
I live with my wife in an over 50s village. We have two cats. It was my 75th birthday in March 2014.
This Website is to be a place to put random articles and ramblings as and when I feel like writing them. I cannot tell you much about the subject matters, except they will be everyday things - in fact, a blog.

That should do it for a start.
I do not have any fawning staff or helpers so I will probably work quite slowly, and the Website will, at any one time, almost certainly be incomplete. You may or may not notice that.
